Partner disclosure: Arrel partners with Prospeo and may benefit commercially from referrals. That does not change the prices or credit rules below. We link to both vendors directly and make the case for Hunter where it is the better fit.

Our short answer: Hunter is easier to price and excellent for email-first workflows. Its annual Starter plan is $408 for 24,000 credits, and verification costs half a credit. Prospeo is a broader data layer with people and company search, mobile numbers, intent, job changes and CRM enrichment. Choose on the records and signals you need, not on a claimed accuracy percentage.

Prospeo's official help center deliberately sends buyers to its live pricing page for current dollar prices. We do not reproduce older prices. Verified allocations: Free 100, Starter 2,000, Growth 5,000 and Pro 15,000 credits per user per month.

Hunter has the cleaner email-only calculation

Hunter charges one credit for a found email and half a credit to verify an address. An unsuccessful finder request or an Unknown verification result is free. Bulk Domain Search can return up to ten emails for one credit, which is efficient for account-based research. Repeating the same request in one billing period is counted once.

Annual Hunter subscriptions grant the full year's credits upfront: 24,000 on Starter, 120,000 on Growth and 300,000 on Scale. They expire at the end of the annual period. Monthly credits reset each month and do not roll over. Extra packs are available on paid plans and last three months.

Prospeo covers more of the data workflow

Prospeo charges one credit for a successfully found verified email and nothing when no result is found. A mobile number costs ten credits and includes the matching email at no extra charge. Company enrichment and a Search API page of up to 25 results each cost one credit. Re-enriching the same record within 90 days is free.

The product also includes a B2B people and company database, intent topics, advanced filters, CSV enrichment and API access. Growth adds CRM integrations, duplicate controls and job-change features. Pro raises API throughput. This is meaningfully broader than a finder-verifier comparison.

Pick Prospeo

Build a richer data layer

You need mobile numbers, company data, intent topics, job changes, database search or enrichment connected to CRM workflows.

Pick Hunter

Keep email research focused

You mainly need domain search, email finding and verification, and want unlimited collaborators plus public prices you can model immediately.

Annual billing changes credit timing

Both vendors provide annual allowances upfront. That helps with campaign spikes, but unused credits expire at renewal. Prospeo paid seats contribute their allocation to a shared team pool. Hunter includes unlimited users on each plan. A ten-person research team can therefore have very different seat costs even when lookup volume is identical.

Test the workflow with a representative sample

Take 200 contacts from the exact geographies, company sizes and roles you target. Measure verified coverage, catch-all handling, mobile coverage, false positives and time spent resolving misses. Keep the source file and rerun it later. Vendor-wide accuracy claims cannot predict results on your market.

If you are exporting to a sender, test field mapping and duplicate behavior too. A cheap record that creates duplicates or loses company identifiers can cost more in operations than the credit saved.
